WLAN funktioniert nicht

Ein Laptop lockt sich normal ein und die Verbindung steht. Mit dem anderen Laptop kommt jedoch immer die Fehlermeldung Eingeschränkte Konnektivität. Eine IP Adresse wird zwar zugewiesen (z.B. 169.254.77.121), aber bei ipconfig kommt beim Standardgateway nix. Wie gesagt das passiert nur beim HP nx6325 Laptop. Das Samsung R50 war völlig einfach zu bedienen. Einfach über XP-Netzwerkverbindungen reingegangen, den Schlüssel eingegeben und schon ist die Sache gelaufen.

And is it save enough to use MAC ADRESS FILTERING?

If you use WEP combined with MAC-Adress-Filtering and disabling DHCP - it should work safe enough at home.

But it is necessary to configure your NIC first.
You also should disable any encryption protocol, firewall and antivirus program for a while.

Then get this configuration mask (Rightclick on the WLAN-symbol in the tray):

Click on "Properties" ("Eigenschaften" on this picture).
This window appears:

Mark "Internet Protokoll Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click on "Properties" ("Eigenschaften").
Now you get this window:

Place a dot beside "Specify an IP address" and enter the following numbers:
IP address: 192.168.1.5
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS-'Server: 192.168.1.1

Please also configure your wired Network Card.
Place a dot beside "Specify an IP address" and enter the following numbers:
IP address: 192.168.1.6
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS-'Server: 192.168.1.1

The only difference between WLAN- and LAN-NIC is the first entry (marked bold).

After this, be sure, that your Laptop is connected with your zyxel and able to reach the internet.

Then open the DOS-Prompt and type: ipconfig /all
Attention: Space after "ipconfig"!

Notice your "Physical Adress" of your wireless connection (it's your MAC-Adress).
Then type this physical adress in the MAC-Adress-Filtering configuration mask of your zyxel.

Be sure, that you still can reach the internet.
Then disable the function of DHCP in your router.
Again be sure, that you can reach the internet.

Now again configure your zyxel. Choose WEP, type a key and connect your notebook.
