as a Slave on the Primary channel. When I installed it, after writing a signature to it from Disk Management,
Windows saw it as 131GB. I checked the BIOS and that saw it as 131GB so I downloaded the latest BIOS which
can see discs bigger than 137GB, Flashed it and now the BIOS sees it as 160GB. I then enabled 48-bit drive
access in the registry
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Servies\atapi\Parameters\
"EnableBigLba" REG_DWORD 0x01 but Windows still sees it as 131GB when I try and create a partition on it.
Any ideas? I'm guessing that perhaps I need to low level format it and write a new signature on it and then
it'll see it as 160GB? Having said that, I didn't think the signature was more than some ident info and it
wasn't until you create any partitions that this should be relevant? All the stuff I have read online
indicates once I have done the steps I have, the extra space should just appear?
