Hat jemand Mandrake 8 installiert..?

Unter Mandrake 8 erkennt Netscape 6.01 weder Java noch Macromedia Flash Player als Plugins. Ausserdem sind die Partititionen der Festplatte leer, kein Inhalt zu sehen. Weiss jemand Rat ?

Sind die Partitionen denn FAT16? Dann sollten sie automatisch gemountet ... FreddyK.

Hi,
Scheint tatsächlich ein Mandrake 8.0 Problem zu sein, auch wenn es der Support von MD auf Java bzw. auf Netscape abschiebt. Komischerweise habe auch ich unter SuSE 7.2 keine Probleme damit.
Hoffe, daß dein English gut genug ist

Netscape 6 (and mozilla) use a new plugin system. It supports java using the new "open java implementation" which only exists in one runtime environment; an updated 1.3.0 from sun. It can be found here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3.0_01/jre/index.html All you need to do is make a symbolic link from the /usr/java/jre1.3.0_01/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so to the plugin directory of netscape6 (or mozilla) Realplayer (and all other plugins except for flash) will not work with netscape6. Sad but true. Netscape 6 is unfinished software - the mozilla developers behind it consider it only version 0.6.
