Der Hersteller bietet für den Cyberdrive CDRW 602 kein Firmware-Update an.Wie ich erfahren habe, ist der Brenner baugleich mit dem Phillips CDD 3610.Kann man das Flashbios updaten und wie funktioniert der Vorgang?

Ja, kann man.
Geht fast vollautomatisch.
1. Firmware besorgen , z.B. www.firmware.com.bi oder direkt von www.pcstuff.philips.com ,evtl. entpacken
Möglicherweise sind readme's dabei, Beispiel für einen anderen Brenner:

firmwareupdate cdd4401 ( 4x4x32 )
->>> IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x32 1.3b (inoffiziell)
->>> IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x32 1.4b (inoffiziell)
mit LngTool.exe sprache einstellen .
mit FlashTool.exe firmwareupdate durchfuehren .

Einfach die .exe ausführen (geht unter Windows),der Rest geht von selbst!
Dann Finger weg von PC, Laufwerk und Tastatur und aufpassen, dass für die nächsten 2 Minuten kein Stromausfall eintritt...
Und fertig!
