NC-Editor geht nicht

Thomas69 / 6 Antworten / Flachansicht Nickles

Nachdem ich mittles MS-Eraser97 mein Office97 (bzw. Reste davon) gelöscht habe, funktioniert beim Norton Commander 2.0 f. Was kann man da tun? (Betriebssystem: Win98se)

Error: "Setup Has Found an Incomplete Installation" and General Installation Problems

Situation:
You try to install Norton Commander for Windows 95 but something goes wrong.
You try to install again but you get the following error message: "Setup has found an incomplete installation".
Trying to uninstall via "add/remove programs" in the Control Panel gives the same error message.
You get various other messages during the installation of Norton Commander

Solution:
Follow these steps before you try to install Norton Commander again:

Delete the temporary files created during the installation

These are left behind if the installation did not run correctly. To delete the files, follow these steps:

1. Click on Start, point to Find, choose Files and Folders, type

?SYMINST.*

and press the Enter key.
Windows will most likely find ~SYMINST.EXE and/or _SYMINST.BAT. Possibly other files as well.
2. Delete these files.

Change Your Video Driver to Standard VGA

1. Click Start, point to Settings and choose Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
2. Double click Display. The Display Properties dialog box appears.
3. Click the Settings tab.
4. Click Change display type. If you are using Windows 95B or OSR2, click Advanced Properties instead.
5. Write down your current display type.
6. Click Change in the Adapter Type group box, or just click Change for Windows 95b. The Select Device dialog box appears.
7. Click Show all devices.
8. Choose Standard Display Types from the Manufacturers list.
9. Choose Standard Display Adapter (VGA) from the Models list.

Close all other programs

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL. The Close Programs dialog box will appear.
2. Close down all tasks except Explorer and Systray. To do this, highlight an individual task and click on End Task.

Now install Norton Commander for Windows 95 again.
