Hauptbildschirm eines Multiscreen-Systems unter Debian wählen

Hallo,

ich habe vor, unter Debian (3.1r1) ein Multiscreensystem einzurichten.
Dazu habe ich zwei Bildschirme an eine "NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP8x" Grafikkarte angeschlosen. Es handelt sich dabei um folgende Bildschirme:
- ein BenQ FP91V+ mit max. 1280x1024 Pixel am DVI-Anschluss
- ein Fujitsu-Siemens CTM5005 mit max. 1024x768 Pixel am VGA-Anschluss
Der BenQ steht dabei Links und der Fujitsu-Siemens steht rechts.

Ich habe den XServer inzwischen so konfiguriert, dass der Desktop über beide Bildschirme geht. Allerdings nimmt er den Fujitsu-Siemens als primären Monitor. Ich hätte aber lieber den BenQ als primär definiert.

Ich habe jetzt schon sehr viele Konfigurationen ausprobiert, jedoch konnte ich mein Problem bis jetzt nicht lösen.

Das Problem kenne ich . Ich habe bis jetzt auch noch nie herausgefunden, welcher Ausgang bei meiner NVidia -Grafikkarte der erste und welcher Ausgang der zweite Ausgang ist.
Ich habe einfach mal die Anschlüsse der Bildschirme an der Grafikkarte vertauscht und danach hat es funktioniert.
Ich weiß nicht ob die DVI Eingänge der Flachbildschirme funktionieren.
Du mußt eventuell einen Adapter für den DVI-Ausgang benutzen. Der DVI Ausgang stellt an bestimmten Pins ein analoges VGA-Signal zur Verfügung.

Hallo,

danke für die Antwort Karsten, aber die Anschlüsse Vertauschen möchte ich wenn es geht vermeiden, da erstens der BenQ der bessere Bildschirm ist und daher eigentlich schon am digitalen (besseren) Ausgang der Grafikkarte bleiben soll und der VGA-Anschluss durch ein anderes Gerät belegt ist und zweitens der FujitsuSiemens keinen DVI-Eingang hat. (Ist ein älterer Billig-TFT)
Auserdem funktioniert diese Konfiguration unter Windows hervorragend. Nur eben unter Linux gibts damit Probleme.
Trotzdem danke für den Tipp.

Hallo,

ich habs geschafft.

Ich habe nach ewiger Suche in der NVIDIA-Dokumentation etwas gefunden:
In der Sektion "Device" der Grafikkarte für den ersten Bildschirm folgende Option hinzufügen:
Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP"
Und bei dem Device derGrafikkarte für den zweiten Bildschirm die Option:
Option "UseDisplayDevice" "CRT"
Laut NVIDIA gibt es dann noch die Option mit TV für den TV-Ausgang der Grafikkarte.
