Hallo Leute,
habe mir eine Western Digital 320GB IDE zugelegt.
Partitioniert und formatiert. Gute Platte! nur was
mich stört statt 320GB hab ich NUR 298GB !
Ist soviel normal?

Cylinder * Köpfe * Sektoren/Kopf * 512 Byte pro Sektor
Das Ergebins ist die Anzahl Byte
dividiert durch 1024 ergibt Kilobyte
nochmal dividiert durch 1024 ergibt Megabyte
und nochmal durch 1024 ergibt Gigabyte.
Mein 200GB hat auch nur 190GB laut WinXP...
Etwas Verlust ist immer...

Die Festplattenhersteller rechnen mit
1 GB = 1.000.000.000 Byte
Betriebssysteme rechnen binär, das heißt, 2 hoch 10 Byte (= 1.024 Byte) sind 1 KByte.
1.024 KB = 1 MB
1.024 MB = 1 GB
1 GB ~ 1.073.741.824 Byte
320.000.000.000 Byte ~ 298,023 GB
Passt also schon :-)
