Hi Leute,
ich hab da ein Problem und zwar habe ich gerade eine Windows98 SE Neuinstallation gemacht, bleibe jetzt jedoch bei der Product ID stecken weil ich diese nicht mehr finde.Deshalb die Frage:Kann man die ID irgendwie von der CD-Rom ablesen oder gibt es Programme die die CDRom auf diese ID durchsuchen. Ich hoffe jemand kann mir helfen.

Die ID ist nicht auf der CD gespeichert, da diese ID nicht fest an ein Produkt gebunden ist (Was VIEL zu aufwendig wäre). Vielmehr folgt die Erstellung dieser ID einer festen Regel, z.B. das 5 aufeinanderfolgende Zeichen die Quersumme 7 besitzen. Gibt man eine ID ein, prüft das Programm, ob die eingebene ID dieser Regel entspricht, und akzeptiert sie dementsprechend (nicht).

A few weeks ago I got Win98 and decided to install it. So I erased my harddisk and started the installation. I had no serial, but as you will see this doesn't matter.
The whole program was copied to harddisk without any serialchek. I still hoped that I could install it without a serial.
But before the first start, it asked my for my serial. It now has a new serial which isn't something like xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx. I tried the serial of the Win98
update which is new, too. But this didn't work. So I pushed the Cancel button. It told me that I can turn off my computer. I rebooted and pushed during the startup
