Hallo! Ich habe ein altes Soyo SY-5EAS mit laufender 166MHz CPU aufgetan und möchte es gerne aufrüsten. Kann mir irgendwer sagen welche CPU auf dem Sockel 7 läuft und welche Jumpersettings dafür notwendig sind. Die Dokumentation bei Soyo endet bei 4x 66Mhz = 266MHz. Besten Dank im Voraus...

Da läuft ein K6-2 mit 400MHz(FSB=66MHz) oder mit 450MHz(FSB=75MHz):
Set CPU Voltage for Dual 2.2V, i.e., on JP32 pins 1-2 open, 3-4 open, 5-6
closed, 7-8 open, JP30 closed, JP 31 open.
Set PCI bus asynchronous, i.e., on JP16 pins 1-2 open, 2-3 closed.
You can use either a 66 Mhz FSB clock or a 75 Mhz FSB clock.
For the 66 Mhz clock, set JP10 pins 1-2 open, 2-3 closed, JP11 pins 1-2
closed, 2-3 open, JP12 pins 1-2 open, pins 2-3 closed. If using the 66 Mhz
clock, set the multiplier to 2.0X (the CXT core of the K6-2/400 translates a
2.0X multiplier as a 6.0X multiplier), i.e., JP13 closed,
JP14 open, JP15 open. This will make the CPU operate at 400 Mhz.
For the 75 Mhz clock, set JP10 pins 1-2 closed, 2-3 open, JP11 pins 1-2
open, 2-3 closed, JP12 pins 1-2 closed, 2-3 open. If using the 75 Mhz
clock, set the multiplier to 5.5X, i.e., JP13 open, JP14 open, JP15 closed.
This will make the CPU operate at 412 Mhz.
Finally, make sure JP100 is open (this is only shorted when using Cyrix
CPUs).
Also, the M-Tech M549 is the same as the Soyo 5EAS mobo.

Das Board hat nämlich einen SOYO ETEQ 6618 = VIA VPX/97 Chipsatz.
